Duties
- Respond swiftly to emergency calls, providing immediate medical attention and stabilization on scene.
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to determine appropriate treatment.
- Manage airways effectively using advanced techniques and equipment to ensure proper oxygenation and ventilation.
- Administer medications via injections or other methods following protocols and physician orders while maintaining aseptic techniques.
- Transport patients safely to hospitals or trauma centers, ensuring continuous monitoring and care during critical transport.
- Collaborate with hospital staff during handoffs, providing detailed patient reports and medical histories for seamless continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all patient interactions, treatments administered, vital signs, and incident reports in compliance with medical standards.
Qualifications
- Valid EMT or Paramedic certification with current licensure; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) are required.
- Prior experience in critical care environments such as hospital emergency rooms or trauma centers is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated proficiency in airway management, venipuncture, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring.
- Strong knowledge of human physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and emergency medicine protocols.
- Experience with triage procedures and critical care transport is a plus; familiarity with Level I Trauma Center operations is advantageous.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or driving under urgent conditions.
- Excellent communication skills for patient assessment, team coordination, and emergency response documentation.
