General Job Description:
The Retail Sales Associate is responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience while actively driving retail sales and supporting daily store operations. This role serves as a brand ambassador for Designer Drugs, building relationships with customers, identifying needs, recommending products, and creating a welcoming shopping environment.
The ideal candidate is energetic, outgoing, sales-driven, and passionate about helping customers find products that support their health and wellness goals. Success in this role requires a proactive approach to customer engagement, strong product knowledge, and a commitment to achieving sales objectives while maintaining the highest level of service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Proactively engage every customer entering the store and initiate meaningful conversations to identify needs and sales opportunities.
· Consistently recommend complementary products, upgrades, and wellness solutions to increase average transaction value.
· Achieve individual and team sales goals, revenue targets, and key performance metrics.
· Participate in promotional activities, merchandising initiatives, and customer engagement efforts.
· Build and maintain relationships with customers to encourage repeat business and referrals.
· Provide backup support for the coordination of treatment room appointments (including red light therapy beds and pharmacist consultations) by assisting with scheduling, appointment confirmations and reminders, monitoring appointment flow, and helping resolve scheduling conflicts as needed to ensure a positive clint experience.
· Support monitoring appointment flow, resolve scheduling conflicts, and provide timely reminders or confirmations to patients and clients.
· Educate customers on product features, benefits, and usage to support informed purchasing decisions.
· Monitor sales trends and proactively identify opportunities to improve product placement, merchandising, and customer engagement.
· Process customer transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
· Maintain visually appealing merchandise displays and ensure products are stocked, faced, and organized.
· Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to management.
· Support in-store marketing initiatives, promotions, product launches, and customer events.
· Maintain the coffee and beverage station by stocking supplies, monitoring inventory levels, cleaning equipment and surfaces, and ensuring a consistently positive guest experience.
· Resolve customer concerns professionally and with urgency; escalate issues when appropriate.
· Ensure all guest-facing areas, including consultation rooms, treatment spaces, retail displays, waiting areas, and public restrooms, are clean, organized, stocked, and aligned with company presentation standards.
· Maintain a strong understanding of pharmacy services and seamlessly guide patients to the appropriate pharmacy team member for prescription assistance, always ensuring privacy and strict HIPAA compliance.
· Collaborate with pharmacy team members to ensure a seamless customer experience.
Qualifications:
Education
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience & Certifications
· 2 + years of experience in luxury retail, hospitality, concierge services, or other premier, client-focused environments required.
· Experience with pharmacy, boutique wellness
· Experience operating a cash register or POS system preferred

· Strong customer service and communication skills
· Ability to build positive relationships with customers and coworkers
· Basic computer and data entry skills
· Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.

Work Environment:
This position operates withing a standard pharmacy and office environment. The role routinely requires:
· Prolonged periods of sitting and standing
· Frequent reaching, bending, stooping and stretching
· Use of computers, telephones, and office equipment
· Occasional lifting of items up to 25 pounds
· Walking within pharmacy operations and between department or facilities
· Adequate vision and hearing to perform job duties effectively
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Additional Requirements:
· Must pass a background check and drug screen
· Authorized to work in the U.S (E-Verify employer)
· Active Tennessee pharmacist license in good standing (or ability to obtain before start date)
Compensation and Benefit Summary:
Compensation will be determined based on skills, education, and experience. Compensation includes eligibility for performance-based quarterly bonuses.
