Summary:
We are seeking a pragmatic, hands-on Corporate Counsel to support our legal and business operations. This role is ideal for an attorney with experience in construction law, litigation, and corporate matters, including labor with broad exposure across a growing company rather than a narrow practice area. You will serve as a key legal resource across departments, advising on day-to-day matters and helping the business move efficiently while managing risk.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage and support litigation involving insurance coverage or construction claims, working with external counsel as necessary and filing liens as necessary

Lead collection/lien enforcement and negotiating with insurance carriers and opposing counsel.

Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, subcontract agreements, and labor-related agreements, ensuring alignment with company interests and legal requirements.

Assist in the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures regarding business and employment matters.

Collaborate with various departments, including finance, human resources, and operations, to assist with legal needs.
Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active membership in the California State Bar required at time of start.

A minimum of 3+ years of experience in construction law, insurance law, commercial litigation, real estate law, creditor-debtor law, or a related field.

Familiarity with employment law and HR-related legal matters.

Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.

A proactive and solution-oriented approach to legal issues.

Salary:

$180K - $200K, based on experience
