Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join our team with a primary focus on backfilling utility trenches. The ideal candidate will have experience operating excavators and other heavy machinery, ensuring that projects are completed safely and efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, the ability to work collaboratively with a team, and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards.
Duties
- Operate excavators and other heavy equipment such as backhoes, loaders, and skid steers for various construction tasks including digging, grading, and laying pipe.
- Collaborate with site supervisors and other operators to ensure project specifications are met.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
- Maintain equipment by performing routine maintenance and reporting any issues to the supervisor.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations while on the job site to ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist the crew on the ground as needed in building trenches and other utility structures as required by project plans.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Excavator Operator or similar role in a construction environment.
- Valid driving license is preferred.
- Proficiency in operating various brands of machinery and other heavy equipment.
- Familiarity with construction site operations and safety practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor tasks as required.
- Previous experience with loader operation, backhoe operation, or skid steer operation is a plus.

Pay: $17.50 - $24.00 per hour
