Normandy Remodeling is looking for a person with experience in residential architecture and drafting to join our Architectural team. This position will work closely with Normandy’s Design/Salespeople to develop construction documents for room additions and extensive renovations, utilizing AutoCAD. As one of the largest residential design/build firms in the country, Normandy Remodeling creates additions, kitchens, and extensive renovations throughout Chicagoland. As a member of our architectural drafting team, you will work closely with our Designer/Salespeople to craft construction documents based on provided designs, and partner with our Superintendents who are ultimately responsible for building the project.
Your role as an architectural drafter will include:
- Producing working drawings that meet code requirements and design expectations of designers and customers
- Making revisions to drawings as required by designers/customers and building departments
- Working closely with designers to provide feedback and suggestions to ensure the project meets the customer’s needs and provides maximum value to their home
- Identifying potential problems in the design and proposing solutions
- Work with project superintendents to help solve any issues that might arise during construction of projects

- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Experience using Chief Architect is a plus
- Strong drafting skills
- A deep understanding of residential codes
- High attention to detail
