Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Teacher to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will support lead teachers in creating a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. Your energetic approach will help foster curiosity, social-emotional growth, and foundational skills in toddler aged students. Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers with curriculum development and lesson planning tailored to early childhood education standards.
- Support classroom management and behavior management strategies to create a positive learning environment.
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities
- Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment by following health and safety protocols, including first aid and CPR procedures.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones.
- Support classroom routines.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and child welfare policies during daily interactions with children.
- Assist in implementing regular observation periods within the classroom.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood education practices, including curriculum development and classroom management techniques.
- Strong communication skills are essential for effective parent communication and team collaboration.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required or highly desirable for ensuring child safety during all activities.
- Knowledge of childhood development milestones.
- Experience in a Montessori prepared environment would be preferred but not require. On the job Montessori training is provided.
