Each cafe employee will receive basic minimum wage, plus any cash or credit card tips.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide attentive, friendly service throughout their visit
- Prepare and serve a variety of gelato/sorbet/coffee items for customers.
- Operate Clover POS system for efficient retail sales transactions and cash handling.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food preparation stations and seating areas.
- Ensure food safety standards are consistently met by following proper food handling and preparation procedures
- Assist with inventory management, restocking supplies, and monitoring product freshness.
- Handle cash register operations accurately, including processing payments and giving correct change.
- Support team members during busy periods by serving customers quickly while maintaining quality service.
- Must be 18+, prefer 21+
Experience
- Previous barista experience or background in food service is highly preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems like Clover POS or Square POS is advantageous
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and transaction accuracy
- Knowledge of food safety practices, food preparation, and proper food handling techniques, plus active Food Handler Certification is a must.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working in a café or retail setting within the food industry is a plus
