Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, presentation standards, and quality specifications
- Assist with food plating and presentation to ensure visually appealing dishes
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen station, adhering to food safety and sanitation protocols
- Handle food ingredients with proper food handling techniques to ensure freshness and safety
- Support menu planning efforts by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation methods
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation during busy service periods
- Assist with catering orders and special event setups, ensuring timely delivery of quality meals
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or as a line cook in a restaurant or food service environment
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques
- Experience working in fine dining or high-volume kitchens is preferred
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
- Prior dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills
