Lambo Mechanical Inc. is seeking an experienced Commercial Mechanical Estimator to join our growing team. This position focuses on commercial and government construction projects, including HVAC, piping, and mechanical systems. Position Overview
The Commercial Mechanical Estimator will analyze blueprints, specifications, and bid documents to prepare accurate and competitive estimates for commercial and government construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical construction knowledge, estimating expertise, and the ability to manage multiple bid opportunities simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to perform detailed material and labor takeoffs
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and project expenses
- Develop and submit competitive bid proposals within required deadlines
- Solicit, review, and analyze vendor and subcontractor quotations
- Maintain organized bid files, estimating databases, and project documentation
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walkthroughs
- Coordinate with project managers and field personnel to ensure estimating accuracy and project alignment
- Monitor market pricing, industry trends, mechanical codes, and safety regulations
- Assist in project handoff activities following successful bid awards
Qualifications
- 5-10+ years of commercial mechanical estimating experience
- Experience estimating HVAC and mechanical construction projects
- Government contracting experience preferred
- Proficiency with estimating software such as QuoteSoft, FastPIPE, FastDUCT, Trimble, or similar platforms
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Office skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, piping systems, and applicable building codes
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred; equivalent industry experience considered

Pay: $150,000.00 - $225,000.00 per year
