Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Custodian / Customer Service professional to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our facilities. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and custodial tasks while providing excellent customer service to staff and visitors. Your energy and dedication will ensure our spaces are well-maintained, sanitary, and inviting, fostering a positive experience for everyone who enters.
Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of all areas, including floors, restrooms, offices, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and sanitation tools.
- Handle chemical agents safely by following established chemical handling safety procedures to ensure a secure environment for yourself and others.
- Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling tasks in accordance with safe lifting practices to move furniture, supplies, or equipment as needed.
- Maintain facilities by performing routine janitorial duties, including trash removal, dusting, mopping, sweeping, and detailed sanitation efforts.
- Operate cleaning equipment efficiently while adhering to safety protocols; this includes floor buffers, vacuums, and industrial cleaning tools.
- Assist visitors and staff with customer service inquiries by providing directions or information about the facility in a friendly and professional manner.
- Support general maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or reporting larger issues to the appropriate personnel to ensure continuous facility operation.
Skills
- Proven experience in custodial or janitorial roles with knowledge of commercial cleaning and industrial cleaning techniques.
- Strong understanding of chemical agent handling safety procedures and sanitation standards.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper manual handling techniques.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor that enhances visitor experiences.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and other custodial tools.
- Knowledge of facilities maintenance practices including basic repairs and upkeep.
- Ability to follow safety protocols diligently while working in environments requiring chemical handling safety procedures and industrial cleaning standards.
