American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with strong orthopedic, neurosurgery, and general surgery experience for a Level I Trauma Center OR position in southwest Virginia.

Work in a large hospital OR department with 25 suites at a Level I Trauma Center serving adult and pediatric patients in southwest Virginia
-
Services include general surgery, orthopedics, neurosurgery, plastics, gynecology, oncology, robotics, ENT, ophthalmology, pediatrics, and sports medicine
-
Patient population spans all age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, and geriatrics
-
Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Call rotation with staff required

Weekend rotation with staff required
-
Must be available to work one holiday during the 13-week contract

Specialized equipment includes ROSA, Si and Xi da Vinci robots, Stealth navigation, O-Arm, and HIPEC
-
24/7 on-site nursing coverage

NBSTSA, NCCT, or military OR Tech certification accepted

VA state license required if applicable; travelers holding an out-of-state license must obtain a VA state license, and a 90-day authorization will be issued to work while the license is being processed

BLS certification required

Strong experience and proficiency in general surgery, orthopedics (total joints), and neurosurgery — all three areas required

Two professional references required for consideration

Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

The facility is an academic teaching hospital affiliated with the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, designated as a Magnet facility for nursing excellence

Experience with big belly, craniotomy, and orthopedic trauma cases is highly preferred
-
Robotic surgical experience is highly preferred
-
All RTO and special scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of consideration

The facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2-week period
