Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Leasing Associate to join a property management team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing the leasing process, fostering positive relationships with prospective tenants, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills, a thorough understanding of property leasing procedures, and familiarity with legal and administrative aspects of real estate management. Responsibilities
- Greet prospective tenants professionally and conduct property tours to showcase available units
- Manage the leasing process from initial inquiry through application, approval, and move-in
- Verify applicant information using property management software such as Yardi or OneSite
- Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations and Section 8 program requirements
- Prepare, review, and negotiate lease agreements and related contracts
- Maintain accurate records of leasing activities, data entry, and filing in accordance with legal standards
- Assist with rent collection, lease renewals, and upselling additional property services
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure property readiness and address tenant concerns promptly
- Handle conflict management situations tactfully while maintaining positive tenant relations
- Stay informed about local landlord-tenant laws and legal administrative procedures affecting leasing activities
Skills
- Proven experience in property leasing, property management, or real estate administrative roles
- Knowledge of LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) programs and Section 8 housing regulations
- Proficiency in Yardi, OneSite, or similar property management software; familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
- Strong understanding of landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing regulations, and legal contract management
- Excellent customer service skills coupled with effective phone etiquette and conflict resolution abilities
- Ability to negotiate lease terms confidently while adhering to company policies
- Experience with data entry, filing systems, and office administrative tasks such as legal documentation handling
- Familiarity with facilities management principles related to property maintenance and tenant safety
- Demonstrated ability to upsell services or amenities to enhance resident satisfaction
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
