Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Adoption Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in facilitating the adoption process for expectant parents and potential adoptive families, ensuring that every child finds a loving and supportive home. This position requires a strong background in child welfare, social work, or related social service fields. This is a PRN position meeting with clients in the community.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough Home Study assessments of prospective adoptive families to determine their suitability for adoption.
- Provide support and education to expectant parents considering adoption as well as assist with completing assessment and collecting documentation.
- Collaborate with National Office to provide best services to client in PA.
- Maintain accurate records of all interactions, assessments, and progress throughout the adoption process.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Child Welfare, Psychology, or a related field is required.
- Knowledge of child protective services and the legal aspects of adoption is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
- Previous experience in social work, specifically in child welfare
- Prior experience completing home studies for child placement- This is a must.
