Requirements: 5+ Years of Electrical Estimating & Project Management Experience on Federal, Healthcare and/or Higher Education Construction Projects.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator / Project Manager to lead cost estimating and manage electrical construction projects across commercial, healthcare, education, and federal sectors. This hybrid role combines precise takeoff and estimating skills with hands-on project management to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to quality and safety standards. The successful candidate will collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams from pre-construction through project closeout.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare accurate electrical estimates and detailed takeoffs for bids and proposals across commercial, healthcare, higher education, federal, and office projects.

Develop scopes of work, quantity takeoffs, material lists, labor forecasts, and unit pricing; identify and document assumptions and exclusions.

Coordinate with architects, engineers, owners, and subcontractors to review drawings, specifications, and contract documents during estimating and pre-construction phases.

Lead project management activities for awarded projects including scheduling, resource planning, subcontractor procurement, cost control, change order management, and progress reporting.

Monitor project budgets and forecast cost-to-complete; implement corrective actions to mitigate budget and schedule variances.

Ensure compliance with contract terms, safety programs, and applicable codes and regulations for healthcare, education, federal, and commercial environments.

Conduct site visits and pre-bid/site review meetings to validate conditions, access logistics, phasing, and coordination requirements.

Manage client and stakeholder communications, attend project meetings, and maintain strong relationships to support repeat business and customer satisfaction.

Mentor and coordinate with estimation and field teams, sharing best practices and improving estimating processes and tools.

Prepare bid submissions, proposal narratives, and presentations; support business development by providing technical input and cost analyses.
Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.

5+ years of combined experience in electrical estimating and project management within commercial, healthcare, education, and federal construction sectors.

Demonstrated proficiency with electrical estimating software (eg. Trimble/WinEst, Accubid, PlanSwift, or similar) and MS Office (Excel, Word, Project).

Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, codes (NEC), and installation practices for healthcare, education, and federal facilities.

Proven track record preparing competitive, accurate bids and managing projects from award through closeout, including change order negotiation and cost control.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and client-facing skills; experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.

Familiarity with federal procurement processes and compliance requirements preferred.

Project management certification (PMP, CCM) or estimating certifications (CEI) a plus.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents; comfortable performing site assessments and field coordination.

Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
