Job Location: Charleston, WV and surrounding areas
Position Summary:
Provide bereavement services to HospiceCare family members. Assists in providing bereavement education to HospiceCare family members and the community at large.
Position Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related field required.
- May substitute for a master’s degree with a bachelor’s in social work and 3 years of hospice social work experience.
- Current unrestricted WV license in counseling, social work, psychology, or related field preferred.
- Experience in grief counseling preferred.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and people skills.
- Contingent upon successful completion of drug screen, background check, and other screenings as applicable
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone.
- Frequent use of a computer and keyboard.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry materials up to 20 pounds.
- Visual and auditory ability to perform essential job functions.
Work Environment:
- Office and healthcare facility setting.
- Frequent interaction with patients, families, staff, and community resources.
- May involve exposure to stressful or emotional situations.
- Regular use of computers, phones, and other office equipment.
