About the Role
Willowbrook Spirit Shoppe in Cromwell, CT is hiring a full-time clerk to join our team. We're a busy neighborhood package store looking for someone reliable, friendly, and comfortable on their feet. Liquor store experience is not required — we're happy to train the right person — but if you've worked in a package store, wine shop, or beverage retail before, we'd especially like to hear from you. Attitude and dependability matter more than a résumé.
What You'll Do
- Ring up customers accurately and handle cash, credit, and returns
- Verify customer age and comply with all Connecticut liquor laws
- Stock shelves and coolers, rotate product, and keep displays full and faced
- Receive and put away deliveries, including moving cases to and from the basement stockroom
- Help customers find what they're looking for and make recommendations
- Keep the sales floor, coolers, and backroom clean and organized
- Assist with pricing, signage, and inventory counts
Schedule Requirements — Please Read
This is not a Monday-through-Friday daytime job. Availability for evenings, nights, and weekends is required, and Sundays are mandatory. Holidays and the weeks around them are our busiest periods. If you can't commit to this schedule, this position isn't the right fit.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must be able to repeatedly lift and carry up to 40 lbs, including up and down stairs
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and reach for the duration of a shift
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
- Comfortable using a POS system and handling cash
- Professional, courteous manner with customers
Preferred (Not Required)
- Previous experience in a liquor store, wine shop, or beverage retail
- Working knowledge of spirits, wine, or craft beer
- Prior cashier or customer service experience
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
