We are a boutique wedding planning and floral design company serving the greater Charleston area with our floral studio based in Ridgeville, SC. Our goal is to bring our client's vision to life while working within their budget and design preferences. We are looking for an experienced floral designer who loves the creative process but also enjoys bringing order, organization, and leadership to a busy wedding studio. This role is approximately 70% floral design and event execution and 30% studio operations and leadership. You’ll have the opportunity to create everything from intimate personal flowers to large-scale installations while helping shape the systems that keep our studio running smoothly.

Position Summary
The Wedding Floral Designer / Floral Studio Manager is responsible for assisting in managing studio operations, ordering and maintaining supply levels in the studio, and assisting with executing events. This role combines hands-on floral design with leadership, organization, and event execution. We're looking for a designer who takes pride in their work, works with consistency, and thrives in a fast-paced, professional environment. You'll create a wide range of designs from bold, modern arrangements to refined ,traditional pieces working both independently and as part of a close-knit team.
An average weekly schedule looks like the following (but subject to change based on event schedule):
-Monday: clean up from past weekend's event including emptying floral van, cleaning studio and taking trash to dump; pulling and organizing supplies needed for upcoming wedding weekend; purchasing supplies needed at local wholesalers (various locations around town)
-Tuesday: typically off
-Wednesday: processing flowers for upcoming wedding weekend
-Thursday/Friday: floral design days (both days are not always needed)
-Saturday/Sunday: event days (both days are not always booked)
Responsibilities
Floral Design & Production
- Create stunning floral arrangements such as bouquets, boutonnieres, centerpieces, arches, etc. for weddings and events.
- Assist with event setup, installation, and breakdown.
Studio Management
- Oversee daily studio operations and workflow.
- Manage inventory by ordering, purchasing and maintaining supply levels.
- Maintain tools, supplies, and studio/floral van organization.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and train designers, freelancers, and support staff.
- Delegate tasks and maintain a positive, collaborative work environment.
- Ability to lead installation teams on wedding and event days.
- Communicate with planners, venues, and vendors to ensure seamless execution.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional floral design experience (wedding and event experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of flower varieties, mechanics, and floral processing techniques.
- Exceptional creativity and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to lead a team and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and work long hours during peak wedding seasons.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to drive a floral van.
