JOB SUMMARY:
The Development and Volunteer Manager reports directly to the Director of Corporate Engagement but will work cooperatively with members of the Development Department to advance the organization’s fundraising and community engagement goals.
This position is responsible for cultivating, recruiting and managing corporate volunteer opportunities and supporting the planning and execution of fundraising events and campaigns. In addition, the Development and Volunteer Manager will be co-administrator of the organization's volunteer management software, Golden. He/She will serve as one of the primary system administrators by training, answering questions and troubleshooting officers, staff and volunteers on platform functionality. He/She will develop user resources, answer questions and providing assistance while promoting consistent use of the system to enhance volunteer recruitment, engagement, scheduling, and reporting.

Implements events and projects including development and adherence to timelines, budgets, and post-event debriefings. Works cooperatively with Development Director, Director of Corporate Engagement and PR Director, as well as event committees, to achieve financial and awareness goals.
Manage the Division’s use of Walmart’s Spark Good platform and Deed, which includes providing assistance to Salvation Army units and communicating with Territorial Headquarters regarding various Spark Good programs.
Provide program materials and reminders to Corps officers across Western PA, working in conjunction with the Service Unit Manager who is responsible for communicating with Service Extension staff and volunteers. Serve as liaison between Sheetz, Territorial Headquarters and Corps
Communicate with Corps officers regarding backpack needs, purchase backpacks and school supplies with donated funds, communicate with sponsors and groups regarding volunteer opportunities, and coordinate promotion with PR Director.
Manage a donation of backpacks and school supplies from Centimark Corporation.
Echelon Staff Liaison for the Greater Pittsburgh Echelon Chapter, fostering engagement with The Salvation Army's young professional network. Responsibilities include maintaining regular communication with members, supporting recruitment and retention efforts, attending Echelon meetings, coordinating volunteer and social activities, and assisting with the planning and execution of volunteer opportunities.
Manage project timelines and logistics for the event, ensuring comprehensive insight into all aspects to effectively communicate with the Director of Development and the Director of Corporate Engagement. Key tasks include sending meeting invites and reminders to the committee, taking meeting notes, and tracking donations, including financial contributions and auction items such as purses.
Assist the Director of Corporate Engagement with the planning, solicitation, and execution of the annual golf tournament in May. Responsibilities include coordinating logistics, securing sponsorships, and ensuring a successful event experience for all participants.
2. Golden - Volunteer Management Software Co-Administrator
Serve as a co-administrator for the Golden volunteer management platform with responsibility for ensuring the effective administration, utilization, and support of the system. Key responsibilities include:
Serve as a primary system administrator by providing training, user support, and troubleshooting assistance to officers, staff and volunteers.
Develop and maintain user guides, training materials, and best practice resources, including step-by-step enrollment instructions and sample volunteer opportunity postings.
Manage and maintain corporate volunteer records within the Golden platform, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
Coordinate the posting, scheduling, and management of volunteer opportunities for Divisional Headquarters (DHQ) programs, including Angel Tree, Camp Clean-Up, Holiday Feeding, and other volunteer initiatives.
Track corporate volunteer service hours and maintain accurate volunteer participation records for reporting and stewardship purposes.
Collaborate with program directors and department staff to create volunteer opportunities, communicate with volunteers through the platform, and monitor volunteer participation and engagement.
Promote the consistent and effective use of the Golden platform to strengthen volunteer recruitment, engagement, scheduling, communication, and reporting across the division.

Assist DHQ officers, Corps officers, and staff in identifying volunteer needs and posting opportunities on Golden.
Respond to volunteer inquiries and refer volunteers to appropriate programs, centers, including Red Kettle volunteer opportunities.
Coordinate volunteer recruitment and referrals for seasonal initiatives, including Christmas distributions and the Divisional Holiday Feeding Program.
Recruit, schedule, train, supervise, and recognize volunteers for the Allegheny County Angel Tree warehouse, including coordinating volunteer shifts, assigning tasks, overseeing daily volunteer operations, supporting gift sorting and distribution activities, and ensuring an efficient and positive volunteer experience throughout the season.
Provide volunteer management for annual Camp Clean-Up Day, including recruiting and scheduling volunteers, coordinating projects with camp staff, arranging volunteer meals, and supervising volunteers throughout the event.
Coordinate volunteer recruitment and management for divisional and corps events and projects as assigned, including Fabric Fair, Allegheny County Advisory Board Red Kettle participation, and other special events.
Maintain the divisional volunteer webpage.
Track, analyze, and report volunteer and corporate engagement metrics, including volunteer hours, participation, program outcomes, and community service impact; evaluate trends and recommend improvements to strengthen volunteer and corporate engagement.

Assist the Director of Corporate Engagement develop case studies, impact reports, success stories, and testimonials demonstrating how corporate support has advanced The Salvation Army’s mission.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
2. At least 2-5 years of experience in volunteer management.
3. At least 2-5 years of experience in event coordination.

Pay: $52,000.00 - $56,000.00 per year
