About Us
At Duggan Manufacturing, we turn concepts into reality. Our Prototype Division builds precision components for the automotive and aerospace industries — from one-off parts to low-volume production runs. Every day brings something new, and we take pride in doing things that most shops can’t.
If you’re a skilled welder/fabricator who enjoys creative problem-solving, craftsmanship, and working as part of a high-performing team, we want to talk to you.
What You’ll Do
As a Prototype MIG/TIG Weld/Fab Technician, you’ll be part of a team that builds high-quality, custom metal components from start to finish. This position combines welding, fabrication, and assembly — not production line work. You’ll work directly from prints, CAD models, and design input to bring prototypes to life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on aluminum, stainless steel, and mild steel.
- Fit, tack, and fabricate assemblies with precision and minimal distortion.
- Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and weld symbols.
- Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and toolmakers to develop functional prototypes.
- Use fabrication tools (brakes, shears, saws, grinders, etc.) for prep and assembly.
- Inspect and verify weld quality, alignment, and finish.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
What You Bring
- 2+ years of welding/fabrication experience (prototype or precision fabrication preferred).
- Strong proficiency in TIG welding aluminum and stainless steel (MIG experience also required).
- Ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings accurately.
- Experience fitting, forming, and finishing complex assemblies.
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and driven to produce top-quality work.
- AWS certification a plus but not required.
Why Join Duggan
- Competitive hourly pay: $22–$32/hour, based on skill and experience.
- Overtime opportunities available.
- Comprehensive benefits: health, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match.
- Paid holidays and PTO.
- Clean, modern facility with advanced tools and equipment.
- Career growth opportunities in a respected prototype and production environment.
