Position Overview
Under direct supervision, the Medical Assistant supports providers in delivering efficient, high-quality care in a fast-paced clinical environment. Medical Assistants are a vital part of our care team and contribute to both clinical and administrative workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Escort patients to and from exam rooms
- Room patients and accurately record vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication updates
- Obtain and review patient records prior to provider visits
- Assist providers with exams and procedures as needed
- Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections
- Perform phlebotomy
- Perform EKGs and apply heart monitors
- Perform point of care testing
- Maintain exam and treatment room cleanliness and disinfection protocols
- Process and clean instruments and equipment
- Answer patient phone calls and route messages appropriately
- Phone in prescriptions and make patient follow-up calls as directed
- Schedule patient tests, procedures, hospital admissions, and follow-up appointments
- Request and obtain outside medical records, test results, imaging, and reports
- Prepare, stock, and organize exam rooms and order supplies as needed
- Support clinic operations with miscellaneous clerical tasks and scheduling assistance
Qualifications
Experience / Training
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant preferred, but not required
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred, but not required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
