Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Auto Body Buffer/Detailer to join our busy body shop team. The primary responsibility will be color sanding and buffing freshly painted vehicles to achieve a flawless, OEM-quality finish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Color sand and buff freshly refinished panels to remove imperfections (dirt, orange peel and other imperfections).
- Operate high-speed buffers, orbital sanders, and other polishing tools safely.
- Apply compounds, polishes, and waxes to achieve a high-gloss finish.
- Perform final detailing to ensure vehicle is ready for customer delivery.
- Exterior Detailing: Meticulously wash, wax, wet sand and buff, and polish vehicle exteriors to remove imperfections.
- Interior Detailing: Vacuum, shampoo carpets, steam upholstery, deodorize, and clean all surfaces including windows, doorjambs, and leather.
- Vehicle Inspection: Inspect finished vehicles for defects, such as scratches or leftover dirt, Paint overspray, and to ensure quality standards are met.
- Surface Protection: Apply protective sealants and coatings to paint, wheels, and trim.
- Shop Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness of the detailing bay and ensure equipment is maintained and properly stored.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in auto body buffing/polishing.
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning agents, waxes, and detailing tools (buffers, steam cleaners).
- Excellent attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
