JOB TITLE: Full-Time/Part-Time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with Pediatric Experience
REPORTS TO: Medical Director & Clinic Directors
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat persons with mental disorders and/or substance abuse challenges.
- Completes the history of the present illness and review past histories and social work evaluations
- Interview patients to obtain insight into their problems.
- Make referrals for further diagnostic psychological or medical testing as needed.
- Prescribes psychiatric medication when needed.
- Observes and differentiates between signs and symptoms associated with normal human physiology and those indicative of pathological changes.
- Maintains continuity of care by regular patient follow-up.
- Consults with collaborating physician and other members of the patient care team to establish plan of care.
- Monitors patient outcome in accordance with the practice protocols.
- Follow Regulations under OMH and OASAS.
- Provide intramuscular injections as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduated from approved Nurse Practitioner Program.
- Licensed as Nurse Practitioner in New York State.
- Experience and willingness to work with children as well as adults.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
Pay: From $80.00 per hour
