Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of short order dishes with precision, speed, and consistency to meet customer expectations
- Follow established recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards to ensure quality and efficiency
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including food prep stations and cooking equipment
- Handle food safely by adhering to proper storage, handling, and sanitation procedures in compliance with health regulations
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting daily specials or modifications based on ingredient availability and customer preferences
- Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent food service in a fast-paced environment
- Ensure all food is prepared according to safety standards, including proper knife skills and cooking techniques
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food industry setting, preferably with fine dining or catering backgrounds
- Strong culinary experience with proficiency in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling safety
- Knowledge of menu planning and meal preparation processes to support kitchen operations effectively
- Experience working in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is a plus, demonstrating attention to special dietary needs
- Skilled in using kitchen tools such as knives safely and efficiently
- Familiarity with food service procedures including serving guests promptly and courteously
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
