Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate gear-cutting equipment such as hobbing, shaping, grinding, and CNC machines.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
- Manufacture precision gears including spur, helical, bevel, and worm gears.
- Measure and inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision instruments.
- Perform machine adjustments to maintain product quality and dimensional accuracy.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary corrections.
- Conduct routine machine maintenance and keep equipment in good working condition.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
- Record production and quality-control information.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; technical or vocational training preferred.
- Experience operating CNC and manual machining equipment.
- Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong knowledge of gear manufacturing processes and machining techniques.
- Familiarity with precision measuring tools.
- Good math, problem-solving, and mechanical aptitude.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- 10+ years of experience in CNC gear cutting.
