Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage groups of children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Plan and facilitate engaging activities that promote childhood development, social skills, and creativity
- Implement behavior management strategies to maintain a positive environment conducive to learning and fun
- Assist with homework help, tutoring, or educational exercises tailored to individual student needs
- Ensure adherence to first aid protocols, including administering basic first aid or CPR when necessary
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other staff to support each child's unique needs and progress
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of activity areas, ensuring compliance with safety standards such as AED operation and emergency procedures
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp programs, tutoring, or youth activities is highly preferred
- Demonstrated classroom management skills with the ability to handle diverse behaviors effectively
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development stages
- Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, or willingness to obtain upon hire is required
- Experience in special education or working with children with special needs is a plus
- Background in sports coaching, theater arts, babysitting, or youth programs enhances your ability to engage children creatively
- Proven ability to foster a safe environment through behavior management techniques and child care best practices
