Responsibilities
- Thoroughly wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment following food safety sanitizing procedures
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed, including handling ingredients and supporting kitchen staff with prep work
- Clear and reset tables efficiently by bussing dishes and ensuring dining areas are clean and inviting for guests
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly, including dishwashers and manual handling tools
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness throughout the restaurant, adhering to kitchen health and safety standards
- Support heavy lifting tasks such as moving supplies or equipment to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Follow all food handling guidelines to uphold food safety management practices and prevent contamination
Skills
- Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for hospitality is essential
- Knowledge of food safety protocols, sanitation procedures, and kitchen health standards
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and operating dishwashing machinery
- Strong organizational skills to manage cleaning schedules and maintain cleanliness standards
- Excellent teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with chefs, servers, and other staff members
- Basic knife skills and familiarity with food preparation are advantageous but not mandatory
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
