Job Title: Revit Designer/Drafter: Low-Voltage Systems
Location: Houston, TX
Position Summary:
Telios is seeking an entry-level Revit Designer/Drafter to join our Houston Technology/Low-Voltage team. This production-focused role will support the design and documentation of structured cabling, access control, CCTV, audio/visual, wireless, telecommunications, and other low-voltage building systems.
The Revit Designer/Drafter will work closely with project managers, senior designers, engineers, and architects to produce coordinated construction documents using Revit. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong Revit skills who wants to build a career in technology systems design while gaining experience across a variety of commercial building projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop and revise Revit models and construction documents for technology and low-voltage building systems
- Prepare floor plans, device layouts, technology room layouts, pathway plans, riser diagrams, details, schedules, and other project documentation
- Coordinate technology system designs with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other building disciplines
- Follow established project standards, drafting practices, BIM procedures, and document-control requirements
- Review drawings and models for accuracy, completeness, coordination, and consistency
- Incorporate design revisions, redlines, and direction provided by project managers and senior design staff
- Assist with field investigations and documentation of existing building conditions
- Support equipment selection, specification development, and other project production activities
- Assist with construction administration tasks, including submittal reviews, responses to requests for information, and preparation of record documents
- Communicate effectively with project managers, designers, engineers, and other members of the project team
- Manage assigned production tasks to meet project schedules and deadlines
- Remain actively engaged in learning Revit, BIM coordination, technology systems design, and evolving industry standards
Minimum Criteria:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in technology, engineering, drafting, design, or related discipline preferred
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency with Revit Demonstrated experience and ability to develop construction documents and follow building coordination practices
- One or more years of direct work experience as a building systems or low-voltage systems designer preferred
- Demonstrated experience and ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
