Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate In Home Therapist (IIC) to provide specialized mental health and behavioral services within clients' homes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in behavioral health, social work, and family counseling, with a focus on supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and other behavioral health needs. As an In Home Therapist, you will deliver evidence-based interventions, conduct comprehensive assessments, and collaborate closely with families and community partners to promote positive outcomes. Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to evaluate mental health status, behavioral challenges, and developmental needs using diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and other therapeutic modalities tailored to each client’s unique circumstances.
- Deliver individual and group counseling sessions focused on mental health counseling, child & family counseling, addiction counseling, and crisis intervention.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to foster client engagement and facilitate behavior change.
- Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis management strategies, ensuring safety and stability for clients and their families.
- Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and compliance.
- Collaborate with case management teams, special education providers, and community resources to coordinate comprehensive home & community care services.
- Collect data systematically to monitor progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and support ongoing case management efforts.
- Employ conflict management skills to navigate challenging family dynamics or behavioral issues constructively.
- Incorporate art therapy or other creative interventions when appropriate to enhance therapeutic engagement.
Requirements
- master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field; licensure or certification as required by state regulations.
- Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or behavioral health conditions in home or community settings.
- Strong knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques including applied behavior analysis (ABA) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical documentation standards, and medical records management in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Excellent skills in patient care, patient assessment, crisis intervention, and crisis management strategies.
- Experience working with children and families within a home & community environment is highly preferred.
- Ability to manage conflicts effectively while maintaining a respectful and supportive approach.
- Proficiency in data collection methods for tracking client progress and treatment outcomes.
- Strong communication skills combined with the ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team focused on behavioral health and special education needs. Pay: $45.00 - $85.00 per hour
