Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and ensuring a safe and stimulating educational environment for young learners.
Responsibilities
- Support the lead teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities
- Assist in the development and implementation of age-appropriate curriculum
- Provide individualized attention to students to support their learning needs
- Help maintain a clean and organized classroom environment
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture
- Supervise students during various activities
-Must pass a DHR licensing required criminal background check and Child Abuse/Neglect Registry check
-Must maintain yearly DHR licensing required CCDF Health and Safety training, 20 hours of child development training, and a Food Handler's Card
-Education: minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent; CDA certification is a plus
Experience
- Experience working with students in an educational setting
- Knowledge of Montessori childhood development principles
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques
- Previous experience in childcare or preschool settings is a plus
- Special education background is desirable but not required
