Training Specialist – Work & Community Services
Goodwill Columbus | $17.50/hr | Full-Time (Mon–Fri Days)

Join a mission-driven team supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) as they build job skills, independence, and confidence. This is a hands-on, active role where you’ll coach and support individuals in real work and community settings.
What You’ll Do
- Train and coach individuals on job tasks, workplace expectations, and soft skills
- Support community integration and preparation for competitive employment
- Provide mentoring and promote independence in daily activities
- Follow person-centered and behavior support plans to ensure safety and success
- Partner with clinical staff to support mental health and well-being
- Maintain a structured, workplace-like training environment
- Complete documentation including progress notes, attendance, and reports
What We’re Looking For
- Compassionate, dependable, and strong communicator
- Ability to support individuals with varying abilities
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1–3 years experience in IDD, mental health, or similar field preferred
- Valid Ohio driver’s license and personal auto insurance required
- Willingness to obtain CPR, First Aid, and required certifications
Physical & Work Requirements
- Must be able to stand and remain on your feet for most of the shift
- Frequent walking, bending, and active support
- Lift up to 10 lbs regularly; up to 100 lbs in emergencies
- Work in active environments with moderate noise and behavioral challenges
- Ability to respond quickly in stressful situations
