Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Studio Manager to help oversee the day-to-day operations of Make It Studio. This is a hands-on role that combines administrative coordination, parent communication, staffing, event planning, and general studio management.
Schedule:
Approximately 20 hours/week (4 days/week, 1:00–6:00 PM), with occasional daytime hours (8:30 AM–4:00 PM) during school break camps. Hours and days are flexible.
Responsibilities
- Help oversee day-to-day studio operations, ensuring classes and programming run smoothly and the space is organized, prepared for that day’s lesson, and most importantly safe for students and instructors.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for parents and families, responding to questions and communicating important updates both by email and in person.
- Coordinate staffing needs, including scheduling substitute instructors when instructors are absent.
- Onboard new staff members.
- Coordinate and oversee birthday parties and special events, including scheduling, staffing, parent communication, billing, materials, and set up.

- Manage class and camp rosters, ensuring information is up to date and accurate.
- Coordinate with school pickup staff regarding any unexpected changes, such as absences and extra students.
- Handle occasional billing needs including aftercare invoices and coordinating refunds, among other things. We rely on Wix and Squarespace, so any previous experience with these is beneficial.
- Step in to support classes or activities when necessary, particularly in the event of last-minute instructor cancellations or staffing changes. Having a crafty background, or at least an eagerness to learn, is helpful in this case.
- Take on additional organizational and operational projects as needed to keep the studio running efficiently. For example, sourcing new furniture or fabric wholesalers, or helping to organize studio-wide trainings.
Qualifications:
Highly organized, dependable, and able to multitask. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable working with children, families, and staff.
Experience in childcare, education, arts, crafts, sewing, or a creative field is a plus.

This role offers growth potential as Make It Studio continues to expand.
