Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Shipping Associate to join our logistics and warehouse operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the efficient movement of goods through shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate order fulfillment, proper packaging, and timely dispatch. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, familiarity with warehouse management systems, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and customer service. Duties
- Prepare and process outgoing shipments by selecting, packing, and labeling products accurately using order picking and packing techniques.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, RF scanners, and forklifts to load and unload freight safely and efficiently.
- Utilize inventory management software and ERP systems to track stock levels, update records, and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Coordinate with warehouse management systems like AS400 or MRP to facilitate order fulfillment and stock replenishment.
- Ensure compliance with shipping & receiving procedures, trade regulations, and international trade regulations when applicable.
- Maintain accurate data entry related to shipment details, tracking information, and inventory updates.
- Assist in inventory management tasks including stocking, cycle counts, and stock reconciliation.
- Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing storage areas for optimal space utilization.
- Collaborate with customer service teams to resolve shipping issues or discrepancies promptly.
- Follow safety protocols during load & unload operations to prevent accidents or damage.
Experience
- Prior experience working in warehouse operations or logistics environments is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management software, and ERP platforms such as AS400 or MRPs.
- Demonstrated ability to operate warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and RF scanners safely.
- Basic math skills necessary for order calculations, weight measurements, and inventory counts.
- Strong knowledge of shipping logistics, order fulfillment processes, and packaging standards.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in data entry and record keeping.
- Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced setting.
- Experience with e-commerce fulfillment processes is a plus.
- Understanding of trade compliance and international trade regulations is advantageous.
