Job Summary
Start a career in the Railroad Industry!! We are interviewing Experienced CNC Operators to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience operating CNC Machines and will be responsible for the safe operation of machines and that production runs smoothly and efficiently. The CNC Operator will work closely with other team members to produce high-quality products while adhering to safety standards and operational procedures. This specific position will be responsible to operate multi axis CNC machines to produce parts used in the manufacturing of railroad tracks. Most openings are on 2nd shift which operates Monday through Thursday from 4pm to 2:30am. One position is open on 1st shift (6am to 4:30pm) and both shifts may require mandatory overtime on Friday as business demands require it to meet production goals. There is a $3.00 shift differential for 2nd shift.
Duties
- Operates assigned CNC (Computer numerical control machinery) that utilizes preprogrammed computer software that dictates the movement of factory tools and machinery.
- Operate machinery and equipment according to work instructions;
- Troubleshoot issues and perform quality checks on finished parts.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, engineering change orders or job orders to determine product specification and tooling instructions;
- Follows reporting and recordkeeping procedures, and report problems to supervisor or lead;
- Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to management;
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures;
- Assists in other work areas as needed and directed by the department supervisor;
- Operate overhead cranes;
- Comply with all safety procedures;

Advanced duties and responsibilities:
- Set X, Y and Z coordinates;
- Basic understanding of G code and M code;
- General understanding of Electrical Standards;
- Train others on the proper set and operation of machines in a safe and efficient manner.
Skills
- Strong ability to read a tape measure
- Prior machine operation or manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with machining processes, tooling, welding and/or assembly techniques in prior work experience or formal training is preferred; on the job training will be provided.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining individual accountability.
- Strong communication skills to facilitate collaboration across departments.
- Excellent reliability and attendance is key!
