V&S Galvanizing, LLC has over 100 years of experience in Hot Dip Galvanizing and we are the leader in the steel coating industry. Today we operate over 9 galvanizing plants in the U.S., featuring exceptional service to small fabricators as well as companies known worldwide.
We are currently hiring reliable individuals with a strong work ethic to fill open Unracking positions at our V&S Columbus North Galvanizing facility in Columbus, OH.
2nd Shift (4 openings):
Monday-Friday 3:30pm-12:00am and Saturday 3:30pm-12:00am
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Remove galvanized steel from racks
- Inspect the galvanized material surface imperfections
- Repair any defects according to ASTM 123/153 Standards and/or customer specifications
- Surface Cleaning of black spots, drips, and wire markings are performed with: hand files, grinders, touch-up paint, galvanizing bars
- If repairs are not possible, inform QC Personnel and/or scale house operator
- Inspect hand-held equipment for safety and safeguards. If equipment is in disrepair, notify the Foreman
- If product is acceptable, package material according to the job requirements
- Maintain a clean work area. Sweep floors between racks
- Keep pathways to fire exits and fire extinguishers clear
Qualifications, Physical Demands, and Work Environment:
- Must be high school graduate or GED equivalent.
- A minimum of two (2) years' experience in manufacturing, heavy industry, or production environments (steel industry preferred)
- Ability to reach, bend, push, and pull.
- Tolerant to hot and cold environment.
- Reliable attendance with ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts is a plus.
