Job Description:
Thrive Tutoring is seeking a creative, engaging, and nurturing Kindergarten/1st Grade Enrichment Teacher to work with early elementary students in the Austin area. This role is ideal for an educator who loves incorporating art, creativity, and hands-on learning into foundational academic instruction.
We are looking for someone who can bring early literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional learning to life through fun, interactive, and developmentally appropriate lessons. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education and thrives in a one-on-one or small-group setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging, art-integrated lessons that support early literacy, math, and foundational skills
- Assess each student’s current abilities and tailor lessons to meet their individual needs
- Incorporate creative, hands-on activities to build confidence and a love of learning
- Foster a positive, encouraging environment that supports social-emotional growth
- Travel to students’ homes or agreed-upon locations in the Austin area (78746 and surrounding neighborhoods)
- Maintain clear, professional communication with families and the Thrive team
- Provide brief session notes and ongoing feedback on student progress
- Collaborate with families to build personalized learning plans and goals
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in early childhood or elementary education (Kindergarten/1st grade preferred)
- Strong understanding of early literacy and foundational math skills
- Experience incorporating art, creativity, or hands-on learning into lessons
- Ability to create structured yet fun and engaging learning experiences
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport with young learners and families
- Background in Montessori, Reggio Emilia, or play-based learning is a plus

- 3–5 hours per week
- Most sessions take place:
- Weekday afternoons/evenings (4–8 PM)
