Reports To: Director of Engineering
Purpose and Performance Goals:
Perform preventative and repair maintenance work to ensure the hotel is maintained according to established quality and sustainability standards while treating guests in a warm and friendly manner.
Responsibilities/Duties
· Respond and attend to guest repair requests to ensure strong guest satisfaction.
· Assist in checking and making routine repairs and assist on major repairs of all hotel equipment including small appliances, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, boilers, pool equipment, HVAC, hand and power tools and general plumbing systems and fixtures such as pipe lines, toilets and sinks, kitchen and laundry equipment.
· Perform preventative maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis (e.g., "room care")
· Service the hotel's pool, including adjusting chemicals and cleaning filters; completing maintenance request forms and record logs.
· Assist in checking electrical systems such as air conditioning controls, television sets, lighting systems, and make minor repairs and/or replacement.
· Maintain daily logs of operation, maintenance and safety activities, as required
· Assist in maintaining the building exterior, (snow removal of hotel entrance, some landscaping, trash removal).
· Follow all company policies/procedures & safety & security policies/procedures
· Perform other duties as requested by management
Qualifications
· Command of the English language in order to communicate with guests and associates.
· Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times. Can communicate well with guests. Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player.
· Climbing, reading, standing, walking and routinely lifting 25 lbs. to 50 lbs. Must be able to receive instructions and communicate progress of work assignments.
· Work well within a diverse team environment
· Must be able to work flexible days and hours, including weekends and holidays
Physical Demands
· Must be able to stand for 8 hours
· Exerting up to 50 pounds or more of force frequently or constantly by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects.
Grooming Standards
Team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Specific guidelines will be explained during the orientation process.
The hospitality industry functions 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, any team member may be required to work rotating shifts, overnight shifts, overtime and holidays. Also, depending on the season, hours may be reduced at any time.
Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Staybridge Suites/Holiday Inn Chicago O’Hare rules, regulations, and expectations and standards. All team members who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Pay: $24.10 per hour
