Orchard Keepers, Inc, (orchardkeepers.com) est 2004, is an Ecologically based landscape company focused on the care of home orchards, edible landscapes, and native/drought tolerant gardens. We also install all manner of landscape components consisting of hardscape, garden structures, irrigations systems, veggie beds, plants and more. We are based in Santa Cruz CA, providing services locally and in San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties.
Orchard Keepers is looking to fill a position on our Landscape Installation Team.
Tasks on the install crew vary day to day, season to season. We are involved in every aspect of landscape construction, from irrigation systems to patios, plantings to raised bed construction. WE WORK HARD and expect a strong commitment to work ethic and attendance. We put a strong emphasis on performing quality work, having good communication with both staff and clients, and enjoyment of coming to work every day!

Tasks include:
- General landscape construction tasks: carpentry, irrigation, masonry hardscaping, decomposed granite installation, horticulture
- Wheel barrowing- mulch, compost, bulky materials, gravel, etc
- Digging and planting
- Irrigation set up
- General garden maintenance- weeding, cutting back
- Trenching
- Veggie bed prep- double digging, raised bed construction
- Any related tasks to the above as directed by the owner, project manager, or foreman
Qualifications:
- Works well with others and communicates clearly
- Great customer service
- Basic knowledge of organic soil care
- Minimum 1 year experience in horticulturally-related landscape or construction field
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Punctual and responsible
- Highly organized and able to work independently
- Familiarity with irrigation systems- underground pvc, valve manifolds, drip systems
- Good knowledge base of CA native plants, edible plants, and/or fruit trees
- Experience and comfortability using a host of power tools to construct basic outdoor structures
- Highly organized with a focus on detail
- Creative and solution based thinker
