Position: Maintenance Planning Superintendent

The Opportunity:
This position is responsible for the oversight and performance of the Maintenance Planning Team at the Mahrt paper mill in Cottonton, AL
How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:

Responsible for the management of all maintenance planners in support of the Mahrt Mill

Provide leadership to the organization in support of equipment and process reliability
-
Support and drive accident prevention and environmental excellence
-
Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted in a safe and environmentally sound manner while adhering to all company policies and procedures

Participate in and promote continuous improvement

Provides direction and focus in optimizing SAP and fully utilizing system capabilities
-
Drives work management process for the mill

Develop and train mill employees on work management process

Develop and review work management KPIs to drive efficiency and effectiveness of the maintenance work force

Develop and maintain planning calendar for outages and shutdowns
-
Ensure utilization of MS project software to build timelines for outages and shutdowns and track progress versus the schedule

Lead daily review meetings during plant scheduled shutdowns

Ensure Bill of Materials and functional locations are established for all equipment

Ensure daily and weekly schedules are developed and published in a timely manner

Ensures resource scheduling to 120% capacity

Increase utilization of standard job plans and task lists saved to SAP

Spare parts review and setup to stores stock

Ensure QA/QC activities are planned into the work schedule

Ownership of unscheduled maintenance downtime, including participation from planning team on root cause failure analysis, and developing solutions

Coordination with project engineering to ensure correct spare parts are stocked, drawings are updated, as well as all pertinent data is entered into SAP

Ensure equipment deficiencies noted in inspection reports are planned and repairs completed

Major contributor to cost budgeting and forecasting process
What you need to succeed:

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in operations, engineering, or maintenance in a large manufacturing facility, with supervisor or management level experience

Must possess strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem solving and decision-making skills
-
5+ years of maintenance planning experience in pulp and paper manufacturing is preferred
