The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following:
Instructor (Nuclear)At least 5 years of experience (with a related Bachelor's degree) in the trade, craft or discipline for which they would train (prefer at least 4 of the 5 years of directly related experience in the applicable INPO accredited training program). In lieu of the preferred related Bachelor's degree, will accept related Associate's degree and at least 7 years of experience as specified above or a High School Diploma/GED and at least 9 years of experience as specified above.
Fully qualified and proficient in the specific craft discipline for which they would train i.e. Nuclear Plant Equipment Operator, Nuclear Electrician, Nuclear Instrument Technician, Nuclear Mechanic, Nuclear Chemistry Technician, Health Physics Technician, etc. Must have demonstrated knowledge and ability to prepare, present and practice job-related skills with class participants through the delivery and successful conduct of On-the-Job training and/or Task Performance Evaluations (OJT/TPE). Must have led OJT/TPE modules for the specific discipline(s) for which they will conduct training. Must have been observed and formally approved to conduct OJT and/or TPEfor specific discipline(s). Prefer in-depth knowledge of instructional design theory and SAT or ability to achieve this skill to progress in the job series above this mid-level role. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with external stakeholders. Good problem-solving skills. Good personal computer skills. Demonstrated ability to operate various plant systems and controls as required for instruction. Possesses some informal leadership skills.
Senior Instructor (Nuclear)
12 + years of related experience OR;
Certified Instructor (including 5+ years of experience) OR;
RO or SRO (including 5+ years of experience) OR;
Sr Instructor Training Cert from Dominion (including 5+ years of experience)
In depth knowledge of instructional theory and design and SAT.
Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, good personal computer, operate various instrumentation and controls, problem solving.
Abilities: Analyze and develop training materials, train and lead others, interface with regulatory personnel and industry peers, informal leadership skills, ability to effectively communicate with regulators.
