Position Description:
NewFields is seeking a Field Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will have a background in construction materials testing and experience working on Mining and Civil construction projects. However, NewFields is willing to hire and train the right candidate who demonstrates a strong desire to learn and grow.
Responsibilities
Perform field and laboratory quality control and quality assurance assignments related to soils, concrete, asphalt and geosynthetic liners.
Assist with various duties including but not limited to miscellaneous office and field administration, equipment maintenance, compiling and reviewing data, assisting with AutoCAD, preparing daily reports and other tasks as required by managers.
Maintain a valid driver's license that is in good standing with NewFields Driver Performance Rating System.
Successfully participate in team-based project work that meets client expectations and provides for on-time completing of high-quality technical work products; and other tasks as assigned by your supervisor.
The position includes essential job functions that require regular travel by automobile or air and participation in field activities. These activities may involve prolonged walking or standing, navigating uneven or natural terrain, climbing, stooping or kneeling, entry into confined spaces, and incidental lifting, carrying, or handling of equipment or samples of construction or environmental materials. Job duties also require travel to active field sites where conditions may include work at heights, underground locations, exposure to active construction or natural environments, use of required personal protective equipment, elevated noise levels, dust, and working in extreme weather conditions, including heat and freezing temperatures. Field activities may occur on a periodic or regular basis depending on assignment, and actual duties and field conditions may vary based on project needs. Work Location
Home office is in Elko, Nevada. This position may require traveling and working remote depending on qualifications and field assignment position.
