Job Summary (Please Read First)
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and experienced caregiver to provide one-on-one care for an elderly gentleman in Topanga Canyon.
This position is ideal for a caregiver who enjoys building meaningful relationships with seniors while encouraging independence, mobility, and daily engagement.
The client has dementia with signs of sundowning, uses a walker, and has become physically weak following an extended rehabilitation stay. We are looking for someone who can gently motivate and encourage him to participate in light physical activity, daily walking, and exercises recommended by his Physical Therapist while providing companionship and emotional support.
The ideal caregiver is upbeat, calm, patient, encouraging, and understands how to motivate without being forceful. A positive attitude and the ability to help build confidence are essential for this position.

Schedule
This is a part-time position consisting of two 6-hour shifts per week.
The ideal caregiver is available to provide occasional weekend coverage if the client's needs change.
Pay
$23.00 per hour, based on experience
Position Overview
This position focuses on companionship, dementia support, mobility encouragement, and assisting with daily living activities while promoting safety, dignity, and independence.
The caregiver should be observant, proactive, and able to recognize changes in the client's physical or cognitive condition while providing compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and meaningful conversation
- Encourage participation in daily walking and light exercises
- Reinforce Physical Therapy exercises as directed
- Provide standby assistance with ambulation using a walker
- Dementia support and gentle redirection
- Medication reminders
- Meal planning and meal preparation
- Light housekeeping
- Escort client to appointments
- Run errands as needed
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Observe and report changes in condition
- Follow the individualized care plan
- Document care using our caregiver mobile app

Required Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of professional caregiving experience preferred
- Experience caring for clients with dementia
- Experience assisting clients with mobility limitations
- Experience encouraging walking and daily exercise
- Strong observation and communication skills
- Professional, dependable, and reliable
- Ability to work independently
Required Qualifications & Credentials

- Valid California ID or Driver License
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Current CPR Certification
- Current TB Clearance
- Active California Home Care Aide (HCA) Registration (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to provide 3–5 professional work references
