Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in food preparation and cooking, ensuring that all meals are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation. This position requires a passion for food, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Duties
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
- Cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Assist in menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas for new dishes.
- Ensure proper food handling and storage practices are followed to maintain food safety standards.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.
- Participate in catering events as needed, providing high-quality food service.
- Support the dietary department by preparing meals that meet specific dietary requirements.
Experience
- Previous experience as a cook or in food preparation is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with catering services and menu planning is a plus.
- Knowledge of food handling techniques and safety regulations is essential.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining individual accountability.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- A passion for culinary arts and a desire to learn and grow within the kitchen.
