Duties
- Prepare and review individual, partnership, corporate, and small business tax returns with precision and attention to detail
- Analyze financial documents, including income statements, balance sheets, and supporting schedules to ensure accuracy
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, and other financial tools to compile data efficiently
- Stay current with federal, state, and local tax regulations to ensure compliance and optimize client benefits
- Assist clients in understanding their tax obligations and provide guidance on deductions, credits, and planning strategies
- Collaborate with clients to gather necessary documentation and answer questions related to their filings
- Conduct research on complex tax issues like partnership or corporate tax scenarios to deliver accurate solutions
Skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial concepts, and tax regulations with a focus on partnership and corporate taxes
- Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, and other financial management tools
- Excellent analysis skills for reviewing financial data and identifying potential issues or opportunities
- Experience with tax return preparation for various entity types; familiarity with tax software is a plus
- Exceptional customer service skills to communicate clearly and professionally with clients
- Ability to perform detailed math calculations accurately; 10 key typing skills are essential for data entry tasks
- Knowledge of marketing techniques can be beneficial for promoting services and expanding client relationships
- Technical accounting expertise combined with bookkeeping experience enhances overall effectiveness in this role
