American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Critical Care ICU Float Pool position requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Work in a Critical Care Float Pool at a teaching hospital
-
Float to a variety of ICUs based on staffing and patient acuity, including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs (MICU x2), Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, and SICU/MICU/NCCU

Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30

Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity

Uses EPIC EMR system

Active RN license (OH state or compact) required in hand at time of submission

Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS

Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required

Teaching hospital experience required

Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred

Proficiency with EPIC EMR required

Required skills: IV Start, Telemetry, and Ventilator management experience

Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
-
2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role and the second from a Charge RN or higher (no coworker references accepted)

Provide critical care nursing across multiple ICU specialties including cardiovascular, neuro, surgical, and medical intensive care units
-
Skills utilized may include arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, chest tube assistance, ventilator management, and interpretation of ABGs
-
Experience with titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation, and emergency medications may be required
-
Familiarity with CVA/stroke management, EVD, ICP monitoring, and dysrhythmia management is beneficial

Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly upon signing contract; those outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to a fingerprinting location, while those farther away will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet

Local candidates are accepted at the same rate

Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more

Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible to be hired as a traveler

RTO must be requested and built into the contract at time of submission, limited to 7 days or less

All contracts must extend through January 2, 2027
