The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides skilled, evidence-based therapeutic services to individuals ranging from early intervention through adulthood. The OT evaluates, develops, and implements individualized treatment plans to improve independence, functional performance, sensory processing, fine motor skills, activities of daily living, and overall quality of life.
As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate closely with Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), Speech-Language Pathologists, Physical Therapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive, client-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients and develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans.
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to clients across a variety of developmental and functional needs.
- Address fine motor skills, visual motor integration, sensory processing, self-care skills, emotional regulation, and activities of daily living.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans based on clinical outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
- Educate families and caregivers on therapeutic strategies, home programming, and carryover techniques.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in accordance with organizational, payer, and licensing requirements.
- Participate in team meetings, care planning, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current Alabama Occupational Therapy license, or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- Current CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.
- Strong knowledge of pediatric occupational therapy principles, sensory integration, fine motor development, and functional skill acquisition.
- Experience working in a pediatric setting is preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder or developmental disabilities is preferred.
