Job Summary
As a Senior Maintenance Technician , you will primarily be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and comprehensive cleaning of production-related automation and facility equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with company standards. This role involves independently disassembling, cleaning, reassembling, and conducting preventive and reactive maintenance on a wide range of equipment, including automation systems, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic systems, CCTV, and office equipment.
The technician maintains detailed records of all maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and cleaning procedures, and communicates effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure workflow efficiency and minimal production downtime. They proactively identify and address potential equipment or infrastructure concerns, providing technical reports and recommendations to upper-level engineers and management.
Essential Task, Duties and Responsibilities
- Independently disassemble production-related automation equipment and facility equipment for comprehensive cleaning ensuring the removal of dust, grease, residue, and contaminants
- Keep detailed records of all activities, including but not limited to equipment disassembly, cleaning and sanitation, reassembly, maintenance repairs and inspections
- Daily Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure alignment on cleaning schedules, production requirements, and equipment maintenance
- Follow and complete all scheduled maintenance, cleaning inspections, and work orders on time, ensuring tasks are carried out efficiently and according to company standards. Proactively monitor progress, coordinate with relevant teams to prevent delays, and promptly report any issues or obstacles that may affect timelines. Maintain accurate documentation and communicate any necessary adjustments to ensure continuous workflow and minimal disruption to production
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and conduct preventive maintenance on any and all equipment units as assigned related to production and facilities: automation equipment, facility equipment, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Pneumatic systems, Low Voltage, CCTV, and Office Equipment
- Maintain equipment on a consistent schedule daily, weekly, monthly, and conduct yearly routines on various manufacturing and production equipment.
- Write detailed technical reports of all maintenance procedures conducted for upper-level engineers to review and keep track of.
- Create daily work reports to be submitted to direct supervisors and managers regarding PMs, work orders and daily completed/uncompleted tasks (requirement)
- Demonstrate a well-rounded understanding of how electrical circuits function and the ability to troubleshoot them with a multimeter.
- Identify potential infrastructure related concerns and report them to direct supervisors or managers.
- Flexible schedule due to nature of production hours to perform reactive maintenance and reduce down time
Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must be 21 years old or older with CA residency
- 2+ years of professional hands-on mechanical maintenance and/or electrical experience
- Preferred applicants will also have a CMRT Certification, and experience in reliability maintenance techniques, automation controls, pneumatics, PLC programming, industrial electrical applications
- Experience working in a food grade manufacturing facility is a big plus
- Must have knowledge with MS Office Suite or Google Suite
- Excellent written communication and documentation skills
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills for dealing cross functionally with peers and senior management
- Strong excel or Google Sheets experience, skills in data curation, data collection, and visual data representation tools and graphs
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required

Physical Requirements
- Standing/walking for extended periods of time
- Frequent lifting, carrying, and moving of products, pallets, and equipment (up to 75 lbs.)
- PPE Compliance: Hair net, gloves and apron always worn during shift when applicable
- Non-slip shoes required for safety in the kitchen when applicable
- Comfortable working in a walking cooler/freezer and adjusting to varying temperatures
The hiring range for this position in California is $38.00-$45.00 per hour. The base pay actually offered will take into account the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
