Project Engineer – Commercial Electrical Contractor
Job Summary
The Project Engineer supports the successful planning, coordination, and execution of commercial electrical projects. This role involves technical oversight, documentation, and collaboration with project managers, field teams, and subcontractors to ensure projects run smoothly and meet quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist project management team in preparing project schedules, budgets, and material takeoffs.
- Review electrical drawings, blueprints, and specifications for accuracy and feasibility.
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Track project progress and assist in updating project schedules and reports.
- Support site inspections and quality control efforts to ensure compliance with plans, codes, and safety standards.
- Help resolve technical and logistical issues as they arise during the project lifecycle.
- Maintain and organize project documentation including contracts, change orders, RFIs (Requests for Information), and submittals.
- Participate in project meetings and communicate project status to stakeholders.
- Assist with cost control by monitoring expenses and identifying potential savings.
- Ensure compliance with company and regulatory safety policies.
Required Qualifications
- Experience or internship in electrical construction or project engineering preferred.
- Understanding of electrical systems, construction drawings, and commercial building codes.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with project management and construction software is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to visit job sites periodically.
Pay: $40.00 - $55.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
