POSITION GOAL: Through a passionate and dedicated commitment to the success of each and every student, Teachers are responsible for implementing Doral Colorado’s Art Integration educational program and creating a school environment that holds students to high academic and character standards while also supporting students to be able to achieve these expectations.
EDUCATION:An earned Bachelor of Arts or Sciences degree. Achieve Qualified Teacher status within six weeks of starting through one of the following channels in the assigned subject area:
- Endorsement on a Colorado teaching license
- Degree (B.A. or higher)
- 36 semester credit hours
- Passing score on a State Board of Education approved content exam (currently the ETS Praxis Series)
EXPERIENCE:Two (2) years working with children age 5-14 delivering art education. Experience with video production and green screen technology. Prior experience, exposure to, training in, and appreciation of the Arts Integration Curriculum.
ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Elective Art Teacher shall:
- Maintain a positive attitude and spawn creativity and success in students.
- Facilitate an age and developmentally appropriate art curriculum for all students in grades K-8.
- Prepare lesson plans and establish art course goals for elective courses for grades 6-9 such as Drawing, Sculpture, Painting, 3D Printing, media and video, and film making.
- Helps students explore the application of materials, tools, techniques, technologies, and processes.
- Coordinate and/or assist with student and school performances.
- Work as a team with classroom teachers and participate in planning and delivering Doral Colorado’s Arts Integration education program.
- Assess, monitor and communicate student academic progress.
- Maintain complete and accurate student academic and disciplinary records.
- Communicate standards, achievements and areas of growth or need to students, parents, and administrators.
- Maintain a safe and orderly classroom.
- Cooperatively work with students, specialists, parents and administration in the development and implementation of individualized education plans, independent or small group study programs, and RtI plans.
- Model respect, personal responsibility, competence and honesty.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
