In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive support to veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and clients, ensuring smooth clinic operations and outstanding pet care. Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional front desk service by greeting clients, scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and answering inquiries with enthusiasm
- When needed, also assist with animal handling and restraint during examinations, treatments, and procedures to ensure safety for both animals and staff
- Maintain cleanliness and aseptic techniques in treatment areas, surgical suites, and kennels to uphold high standards of hygiene and infection control
- Handle various animals confidently using knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and behavior to reduce stress and facilitate care - including feral cats
- When needed, support kennel operations by cleaning enclosures, monitoring animal health status, and assisting with pet transfers
Qualifications
- Previous kennel experience or animal husbandry background preferred; experience working in a veterinary clinic is highly valued
- Strong animal handling skills across different species including dogs, cats, familiarity with dog handling techniques is advantageous
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, laboratory procedures, medication protocols, and aseptic techniques
- Experience with animal restraint methods
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients about pet care instructions and clinic procedures
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining compassion for animals and clients
