About the Role
Our client, an established compounding pharmacy is seeking an experienced Director of Pharmacy / Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to oversee pharmacy operations, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and clinical leadership. This is a senior leadership position responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of pharmacy services while leading and developing the pharmacy team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership across all pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations and industry standards.
- Maintain responsibility for pharmacy licensing, regulatory inspections, policies, and controlled substance management.
- Oversee sterile and non-sterile compounding processes, ensuring quality, accuracy, and patient safety.
- Lead quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives, including SOP development, audits, investigations, and corrective actions.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, recruitment, training, and performance of pharmacists and pharmacy support staff.
- Work collaboratively with senior leadership to improve operational efficiency, service quality, and business performance.
- Ensure accurate documentation, inventory management, and compliance with applicable pharmacy standards.
Requirements
- Active Pharmacist licence in good standing.
- Previous experience as a Pharmacist-in-Charge, Director of Pharmacy, or similar pharmacy leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations, compliance, quality systems, and compounding standards.
- Demonstrated leadership, people management, and operational experience.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience within a compounding pharmacy environment.
- Familiarity with sterile and non-sterile compounding regulations and quality systems.
- Experience preparing for and managing regulatory inspections and accreditation activities.
